Content marketing San Antonio

What is content marketing

Understanding how content marketing works in San Antonio is the first step to earning a lot of money online. Using quality content, you can promote your business online or even inform millions of people around the world about your presence.

Content marketing is the new gold, and it is not hard to see why.

It is a strategic approach to marketing that focuses on the creation and distribution of relevant and valuable content consistently to attract the right audience and make a profit from their patronage.

A lot of brands have begun to see how easy it is to get messages across to their audience using the hundreds of social media platforms available today.

Leading brands hire experienced content marketers to improve their brand, products, and services by creating awareness through these platforms.

This results in increased sales, saving costs, and even getting loyal consumers.

Despite its effectiveness, some still do not believe in how powerful this technique is for an online business.

Others believe it is just about posting a few blogs online and waiting for the alerts to pop in.

These are atrocious assumptions, to say the least. Content marketing requires the right strategy to work and this article will talk about how it works.

Why do you need content marketing?

Nowadays, everything has become digitized.

There is almost nothing you can’t accomplish as long as you have a smartphone and a reliable internet connection.

Using social media, you can reach a specific audience and advertise your products and services from the comfort of your home.

Gone are the days of print advertising or television ads.

They are not as effective or reach a wide range of audiences like content marketing.

Quality content is essential for successful marketing along with a well-defined plan or strategy.

You need content marketing because this is now the most reliable method of creating recognition for your brand and becoming a force to be reckoned with in your field.

Here is a more detailed outline of the various types of content marketing.

Types of Content Marketing

There are different types of content available suitable for different marketing strategies such as vlogs, videos, ads, billboards, surveys, email newsletters, social media posts such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., surveys, podcasts, questionnaires, programs of dissemination, photographs, predictions, news, etc.

Each option has its benefits and can be used according to the demand of the situation. The only main objective of marketing is to increase the income of the business, and there are numerous ways to achieve it.

Content marketing requires a creative brainstorm of professionals who are ready to connect with the minds and thinking of consumers.

Using this connection, they will understand the best approach to use in capturing their attention. Interactive and original content will help a product or service be successful.

Here is a break down of the types of content marketing:

Blog post

Blog posts are one of the most common methods of communicating with a broad audience.

Social platforms such as WordPress and Blogger have made this easy and free.

Some posts are excellent with 300-500 words, while others need more in-depth content.

100Pulse recommends writing articles of 1,500 words, make it useful and informative. Consider writing one or two of these each month.

There are tons of things you can write on, including product reviews, lists, instructions, summaries of your best publications, tips, and interviews.

Converting your blog posts into an ebook or a white paper is a great tool to obtain records by email.

It helps you know those who are indeed interested in your services and with this, you can be able to keep up with them using announcements and exclusive discounts.

Consider posting videos on different social networks, email, or blog.

The most popular site for video content is YouTube, with billions of users around the world.

This will help increase your reach. Interviewing someone at a conference, highlighting a new product or service, and taking viewers on a backstage tour of their office are some of the great ideas for their videos.

you won’t need expensive video equipment to do this. A simple smartphone device can do so much more nowadays. You have to learn to optimize your video.

Content marketing is not just about written words. Infographics are visually interpreted information that is very attractive to visual students.

Keep in mind that not all people love to read. In fact, most people prefer to digest it in another format. Transforming them into an infographic is a smart method of content marketing.

Guest blog posts

This involves publishing your content on other established blogs. Doing this will extend your brand’s reach. Experts have found out that guest blogs work effectively if they develop long-term relationships and contribute to the site by sending traffic regularly.

Social Media

You can hardly find someone who isn’t active on at least one social media platform.

The popular ones are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Quora, and Whatsapp. Facebook and Twitter are based on words, while Instagram speaks more through images.

The status feature on Whatsapp also allows you to take content marketing to this platform. Quora is a hub of knowledge, and a lot of professionals have harnessed the power of this platform to establish themselves as the go-to person for advice in their field.

Regardless of your methods of content marketing on this platform, they all have high success rates when done right.

SEO Marketing

When people connect, they have specific problems or a level of curiosity that they want to satisfy.

Most likely, they visit search engine sites such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing to search for the answers.

They will put the keywords there, and that will be the opportunity for content marketing experts to observe them online.

They can point to a specific niche with high volume traffic based on the number of times internet users use particular keywords.

For example, people want to seek advice on how to do content marketing; they can write “how to be a content marketer” and get search results. This type of content marketing leverages what people are looking for online and sends them directly to you.

High-quality content is enhanced by learning and applying SEO or search engine optimization.

Content marketing trends you should adopt

Content marketing must be smart to capture the attention of the target audience for the service or product.

Addressing your audience requires strategies for intelligent content marketing.

The content should be designed in such a way that it points to the right audience in your mindset. Map the content for advertising your product or service.

Then use this to map out the purchase cycle of people who have the specified problem and who would be willing to venture into the product or invest in the service.

Here are some content marketing trends you should adopt to be successful in your strategy:

  • Always invest in original content

As competition increases in the social media space, brands must remain relevant.

The best way to stay connected is to give your audience original content. No one loves to read posts that have been 100% plagiarized or that do not let them know something new.

2. Be transparent

Consumers are becoming increasingly insensitive. They want and often hope that companies are open, authentic, and dedicated to giving back.

People are becoming skeptical of brands that give false illusions of charity and environmental support just to make sales.

To build and maintain the trust of your audience, don’t exaggerate to give your brand a credible outlook. You can make use of influencer marketing to connect with your audience.

This involves using those who already have a large number of followers and have earned their trust to let their audience know about your brand.

3. Have a significant content marketing budget

Around the world, companies are spending huge amounts of money on content marketing.

This is because it is a worthy investment. If you have the challenge of limited staff, then use freelance writers and others who can produce quality content at an affordable price.

4. Don’t encourage a disjointed content strategy

Don’t have separate content creators, social media administrators, and other writers who are not integrated with the official content team, leaving no one really in charge.

Such a disorder can lead to a very disjointed content strategy. Instead, set up a team that understands your goals and will communicate with your audience without any element of fakeness.

Video Content

5. Live videos are the new cool

Using pre-recorded videos have become so…yesterday. Live videos have now overshadowed them.

Reports by Facebook have suggested that users spend at least three more times watching live videos than pre-recorded ones.

They also comment more on live videos. You only have to check out the views on YouTube to understand how powerful live videos are. This presents you with the chance to get on the live video train ahead of your competitors.

7. Document your content marketing strategy

Ask a marketing specialist about the effectiveness of content marketing, and he or she can likely determine what makes the gears spin effectively.

This is because companies are concentrating on the development of reflective content marketing strategies.

To carry out content marketing effectively, you need to be aware of your plan and have them adequately outlined to aid the planning process.

To keep up with your competitors, what strategies are you using? It is an excellent idea to consider more efficient content creation, expanded content, and other elements that will foster the growth of your brand.

Most of all, these plans should be realistic, and you can achieve this through documentation.

8. use interactive visual content

We all know that live video is attractive and responsive, but have you heard of interactive visual content?

Visual content is an opportunity to create an entirely different experience for your audience. We call this virtual reality. Virtual reality offers new opportunities for content marketing, as well as customer participation.

Shopify, for example, has taken this seriously and developed a virtual reality application that allows online shoppers to customize clothes from the comfort of home.

While the virtual reality perspective may seem daunting, it will probably be worth it to anyone willing to try.

9. Using the right content distribution technique

While most marketing specialists recognize how effective content is for businesses now, what remains uncertain is the means of content distribution. And although there are hundreds of blogs and newsletters to take advantage of, the best way to get your message heard above the rest is through optimal content distribution.

If you want to get the attention of 2,789 billion active users of social networks, you must adopt a strategic distribution plan.

Smart brands will make investments not only to acquire content but also to distribute them strategically using multiple channels. Be that smart brand. Don’t limit content distribution to just one social media channel.

A lot of people believe that content marketing is complicated, but this is an erroneous belief.

To make this work, your focus should be on quality content and how you will pass it across to your audience.

With the strategies outlined above, you will be able to get started. The content they say is fire, and social media is gasoline.

The right amount of gas will keep the fire burning for long. Don’t forget to also think outside the box. Putting in some unique methods will help you stand out.

What is SEO how does it work

Irrespective of the size of your business, be it large or small; you need a customer! Not that alone, but repeated customers! Gone are the days when traditional offline adverts are sufficient; therefore, it is important to know how to get your product or service before your customers using the power of the internet.

What Is Local SEO?

Local SEO simply means targeting your website and online marketing efforts towards the local population, rather than the global population. Although, Local SEO is more than that in a closer look.

For clarity purposes on the importance of Local SEO; I am going to give you a short illustration. Imagine you run a Jewelry store called ‘Mine Jewelry.’ Your Jewelry store has a website and is listed in the online Yellow Pages. If a local customer knew your store’s name and wanted to find your telephone number, he or she could easily type “Mine Jewelry” into a search engine, like Google. Your company’s website would automatically appear at the top of Google’s result page, where your customer could easily view your website and find your telephone number. Awesome! But what happens if the customer does not know your store’s name or does not even know your business exists? How would he or she find a good place to buy the wedding ring? There is a very high possibility that he or she will still use Google, by typing something like “wedding ring for sale” or “original wedding ring in Florida.” If he or she typed in something like this your store’s website would still appear on the search engines results, but most likely there would be dozens or hundreds of other companies that would appear first. Your website may appear on page 40 of Google’s search engine result pages. If your company is listed as number 320 of a list of potential choices, then no one is likely to find your store.

You see, when the Internet first started becoming popular in the late 90s people became excited about the fact that not only could they easily communicate with those in their neighborhood and surrounding communities, but with a global market as well. For businesses, this was big news because they were no longer restricted to the physical borders and boundaries. It wasn’t just big news for businesses, but also for everyone! Unfortunately, there was a problem, as all businesses do not need a global operation. As people running a small local mortgage shop only want to reach the people in their town, because they are most likely to be their customers. However, this might not be easy for both customers and business owners without Local SEO.

What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?

SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization; a combination of strategies used to increase a website’s visibility and ranking in the search engines. In another word, it is a way of informing the search engines about the quality of a website, in order to drive organic (non-paid) traffic.

Mind you, SEO depends mainly on the content, structure, and links to a website. We just need to develop these things in a way, a search engine can understand better. But remember! While doing SEO to make your site search engine friendly, you should never ever forget the concerns of your viewers.

Why Is SEO Important?

For the purpose of this post; I am going to share with you some importance of SEO.

  1. Search engines are the biggest and best sources of web traffic. On this, there is no controversy; as you may already know the major ones, which are:
  • Google
  • Bing
  • Yahoo

For sure, social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, etc. can also generate a bunch of visitors to your website. But when it comes to the primary source, it’s always a search engine. And also, a newbie will always open Google to browse anything. Same stands true for regular internet users, whenever they when search anything like an article content, any type of services, products or even any information.

  • Targeted Traffic: Another big reason which is making the search engines unique is that they provide highly targeted traffic. You’ll get people on your website, who are looking for your services. Search engines will do that on their own, if you have done your website’s SEO correctly. But if you don’t do that, search engines might not be able to find your site. In short, you’ll not be getting any traffic!
  • You Get Free Traffic: Yes, SEO traffic comes at no extra costs. That is why it is very important to make sure your website’s SEO is done correctly.

What If I Don’t Do SEO?

Once your website is live, search engines will crawl it, to find out all about the website. Now, if a user searches for a topic related to your site, search engines will show it in its result pages. Search engines are brilliant and continually improving their technology to crawl a website more efficiently. But if you decide to ignore the power of SEO, here are some of the things that will happen to your business.

  1. Your Marketing Cost Will Increase: Yes, this is just common sense; the moment you ignore the power of SEO, you must be willing to spend more money on Google AdWords or Social media advert.
  2. Low Sales: This is inevitable, since the flow of traffic is reduced. In online presence, traffic is money – the more traffic you have, the more sales you will make. It is also certain that your sales will reduce.

Rightly done SEO can give you thousands of viewers, while some wrong moves can lead to your website disappearance from the top of search engine result pages, leaving you with almost zero traffic.

Black Hat SEO Approach V/s White Hat SEO Approach

Whenever it comes to SEO; there are two ways to it. You can either go the right but steady way or the wrong but hasty path. Here is how these may be described…

Black Hat SEO is the approach you use when looking for quick SEO results – it is a get-rich-quick scheme. This type of SEO focuses on optimizing your content only for the search engine, not considering human’s benefits at all. Ultimately this approach results in spammy, crappy pages, which often get banned very fast, often leading to severe punishment for the business owner – ruining their chance of building something sustainable in the future. Although, you might get a few traffic this way, but will continuously have to be on the lookout for search engine updates, and come up with new ways to dodge the rules.

White Hat SEO, on the other hand, is the way to build a sustainable online business – this is a slow but sure path. If you do SEO this way, you’ll focus on your human audience, trying to give them the best content possible and making it easily accessible to them, by playing according to the search engine’s rules. Needless to say, you should always go for white hat SEO!

How Search Engines And SEO Works

In order for search engines to decide on exactly how they are going to index and rank Websites, and the individual pages on these sites, all the major search engines send out a special software program known as a search engine robot (a ‘bot’), or ‘spider’, to see what each of those pages is all about.

While SEO (search engine optimization) is all about trying to understand what the search engines want, when they come to your site, making sure you ‘feed the spider’ exactly what it is looking for!

How To Rank On Google?

For this to be possible, you need to understand the division of SEO available:

  1. Keyword Research
  2. On Page SEO
  3. Off Page SEO

#1 Keyword Research

When it comes to keywords, your business type is irrelevant; as SEO is a game of Keywords. For you rank higher on Google, you know the keywords related to your topic or niche. Different keywords have different value depending on their search volume and competition.

Keyword Research is all about finding the intentions of the users to use search engines. What exactly the users are searching for your topic, are your keywords. Using the right keywords while implementing SEO on your website, is the best thing for your website. As it gives you an opportunity to have a clearer view of your targeted audience. It will increase your site’s relevancy on your topic, and that is a great thing for SEO and search engines.

Besides, you need to do proper research to find valuable keywords related to your topic before starting your website. Even if you already have a website and content on it, you can optimize it by using correct keywords.

#2 On Page SEO

On Page means everything displayed on the web page, and its back end programming. In On Page SEO, you need to optimize your website’s page and posts, etc. for search engines. In Short “Optimizing Content for Search Engine!” It covers a lot of things, so let’s break this into divisions.

  1.  Content

Content is the biggest division of On Page SEO. You might have heard that famous quote about content that: “Content is the King,” an there is no doubt about that. Google’s first priority is to provide its users with top quality content, and with best relevant information available on the web. These days, Google also loves the right length of content. So, try to write long and informative. Content on your website isn’t only about the written article. It also includes videos, pictures, animated slides, and infographics, etc.

However, it is important you pay more attention to the followings for better content:

  • Titles – Create eye-catching titles that raise the reader’s interest. You only have one chance to make a great first impression.
  • Keywords – Pick keywords that are relevant, and will also help to bring people to your website.
  • Links – Link to quality sites that compliment what your website is about. It’ll encourage sites in your niche to link to you as well.
  • Quality – Try to publish unique and quality content. This prompts users to come to your site because they cannot easily find the content elsewhere.
  • Freshness – If you are publishing content that does not age or becomes outdated, that’s great, but you also need to add new content on a regular basis. If you don’t have the time to add content to your website, consider adding a question and answer section or a blog to your site. While writing your content, don’t ever forget to embed your keyword research in the best possible and natural looking way.
  • Website Layout

After optimizing your content, Website Layout is the next thing you need to take care of while doing On Page SEO. An example of the worst website layout is when someone has totally irrelevant categories as compared to their topic. Can you just imagine visiting a website with a bad layout, you probably won’t like to visit that site again… so, why would anyone else? That is why you need to make sure your website layout is awesome and beautiful.

  • Website Speed

Yes! Website Loading Speed matters a lot! When a user searches for something and your website appears on search engine result page (SERP). Then that user opens your site, but the loading speed determines if the visitor is even going to stay on your website. Remember, Google loves when visitors spend a reasonable amount of time on your website. It is called Dwell time!  Remember, it’s one of the factors that search engine uses to rank your website.

  • Website Design

Website design is another critical thing to aid good user experience… Your website needs to be Responsive, and should have an Eye Catching Design. However, it’s unfortunate there are lots of websites with excellent content, but bad design. This will probably piss anyone off, and can even be worst when viewing on Smartphone…

You’ll surely get tired and at the end, and will stop visiting that site. Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works! Hence, always use Responsive and Eye Catching Design.

#3 Off Page SEO

Just like you have done the On-Page SEO, you also need to do Off-Page SEO to make your domain an authority before the search engines. In other words, we need to make our website trustworthy for search engines. And it will happen when other famous sites tell the search engine that your site has the best content about your topic. Now, how would it happen…?

You need to get your website referred from other famous resources on the web about your niche. In technical terms, it is called link building. Naturally, it’s an automatic thing! When you post high-quality content on your website, and share it with the interested people. Eventually, whoever like the content will link to it.

The best link building strategy is to create something awesome and let everyone know about it. But Remember: In today’s competitive environment, we need to learn about proper link building strategies. Then plan and execute pre-defined and practical ways adopted by some quality sites. And your hard work in that activity will surely pay you with better ranking in SERPs.

Moreover, here are the things that should be done:

  • Use social network to promote your content
  • Do some blogging and guest posting
  • Refer your suggested solutions in discussion forums
  • Photo and video sharing
  • Relevant business and local listing

The Dos and Don’ts of Local SEO

How to rank on google

Build website traffic

Creating a website seems easy enough when you have a grand idea and a big picture in your head of how it should all work out. You probably thought as long as you followed all the rules and did your best, your website would rank in search results and you would be on your way to success. But then reality hit and none of these things happened! Suddenly the big picture you had seems to get smaller and smaller. What could be the problem – aside from Google’s plain dislike for your website of course.

To rank on Google, there are practices and strategic steps to follow. Thankfully, you don’t have to fret about what they are because I have put them together right here for your consumption. Dig in and thank me later.

Google ranking algorithm

Google makes the rules here when it comes to SEO practices, ranking, and pretty much any use of their webspace. So, the existence of a ranking algorithm you should be informed about is not surprising. The thing about this algorithm is that it changes frequently. In fact, according to Moz, Google makes 500-600 changes a year with its ranking algorithm. You might expect to be notified of these changes but think about it – 500 to 600 is a bit too much to be notified each time.

However, Google does make announcements for MAJOR changes and while this is helpful, the other changes web owners don’t know about seem to account for more. Studies show that 40% of marketers believe that these changes are the biggest obstacles to their SEO success.

This basically means it’s important for you to stay updated on these changes. This might seem impossible but thanks to available resources, it can be done. Check out Moz’s Google Algorithm Change History, Webmaster Central, and The Webmaster. These are great resources for checking updates or changes on Google ranking algorithm.

Check your current ranking and keywords

To begin to overturn the situation you need to know exactly where you stand. There are two easy enough ways to do this:

  • Use to access your current rank. Type in your keyword along with your site’s URL
  • You can check Yahoo results by narrowing down searches to local rankings by ZIP code or city.

This first assessment should present you with the following information:

  • Your site’s rank in search engines for the keyword in question
  • The page on your site that is first seen in search results containing the keyword
  • Your cost per click for the keyword
  • Average monthly searches

Seeing this information might just be your ‘aha!’ moment but don’t get too excited yet, this only still the first steps.

Find the keywords to rank higher

If there’s anything the report above shows you, it’s that there is room for improvement in your keywords and ranking. You know which keyword you ‘rank’ for but what about those that can help you go higher?

The features you should be looking out for to help you choose the keywords you need to rank higher include:

  • Keywords that already drive the most traffic
  • Keywords with high search volume
  • Keywords that have low keyword difficulty (KD) scores
  • Keywords that can translate into revenue

When you find these keywords, note them to employ in your ranking strategy.

Spy on your competitors

There’s no shame here. If your competitors are ahead of you, you need to know what they are doing that makes them so popular with Google ranking algorithm. Use a tool like Google Keyword Planner to get an accurate report on your competitor’s keyword targets.

Type in your ranking competitors URL, click on get ideas and then keywords ideas. The planner will show you the keywords your competitor is targeting and you can get to work on them.

Improve content with keyword analysis

After discovering the best keywords people search for on Google, you can incorporate them into your web content. This can happen in various ways, starting with blog posts and other content on the website. Use the keywords to create on-page SEO content that offers value to readers and will become relevant in search rankings.

Use proper keyword practices like placing the keywords naturally in the content and as close to the beginning as possible.

Optimize your title tags for on-page SEO with the following tips:

  • Don’t use all CAPS titles
  • Don’t keep default title tags like ‘product page’ that mislead the search engine into assuming that you have duplicate content.
  • Always put the most unique and important keywords first.
  • Think value by writing great and informative content visitors can’t help but read. Slip in the keywords and suggest sharing the content on social platforms.

Webpage speed

These steps are like seeds been planted and expected to grow. But of course, if the soil isn’t fertile there would be no growth. So aside from finding the best keywords and putting them to work for Google ranking, your website must be set up to allow these changes work. Start by checking your website speed. A slow website has very little chance of gaining a high search position, in fact it contributes to making your ranking strategies ineffective. In addition, it will also influence your ability to convert clients because web users are not known for patience.

Tools to help you check your site speed are:

  • Web Page test
  • Google Page Speed Insight
  • Website Speed Test

Next, ensure your website is mobile-friendly. According to Smart Insights, there are more mobile searches than desktop searches. If your website is not mobile-friendly, it’s time to fix that. Use services like Mobify and Duda Mobile.

  • Track and Repeat

After doing all of this, you need to know that your efforts are yielding results right? Track your keywords and ranking with suitable tools like Ahrefs Rank Tracker.

When you observe progress for one keyword, go back and start the process again to rank for other keywords. Keep tracking your progress and in time you will see amazing results.

How does local SEO work

When you are a business owner in this day and time who wants to succeed, you have no choice than to keep up with most of the developments in the business sphere. One of such is the need to have an online presence and get familiar with terms like local SEO.

Local SEO which is local search engine optimization is currently among the top mentions on the list of things online business owners need to be seen, heard, and to make profits. To put this to effective use and leap ahead with other business owners, you must first understand what local SEO is.

Read on as we explain local search engine optimization.

What is local SEO?

Let’s put it this way, if you own a physical store, it can be described as a local business. Now, you need people to visit your physical store to be able to make profits. Hence, with a website, you can maximize your reach by targeting as many people located in that geographical area as you can. This targeting is what is aptly described as local SEO.

Local SEO helps you promote your services or products online at the exact time potential customers are searching for them. For example, if someone searched for ‘cleaning service near me’ which is your business, you would show up in search results if you are optimized for local SEO.

The primary purpose of local SEO is to boost your business’ visibility via location-based searches. So, Google looks out for geo qualifiers that show local intent and picks up the person’s geo-location, then the search engine ranks businesses or search results based on the information. These geo qualifiers include ‘near me’ searches, zip code, city, state, and more.

Importance of local SEO

The importance of local SEO for your business all comes down to the stats. The stats don’t lie and can clearly show what you might be missing out on without local SEO in your online game.

In a nutshell, local SEO plays a major role in foot traffic and business revenue. You can’t depend on your limited popularity in your area to reel in more customers and sales. An online presence gives business owners the chance to reach out to customers nearby who may not know of their existence. But this does not happen by creating a website alone. You must optimize for local SEO to get the necessary results.

Local SEO provides your potential clients with the information they need about your business. Usually this depends on how much detail you put out there but if you update details on things like opening and closing hours, pet-friendliness, family-friendliness, free Wifi, and more, your prospects can see accurate information that might be important to them.

Local SEO also helps to drive trust for your business. The more data prospects see, the more trustworthy you seem and the greater the chance of a beneficial business relationship.

Who can benefit from local SEO?

Business owners with a physical store, a website or live page, accurate address or contact information listing their location, and reviews from clients who have used their services or purchased their products are the major groups of people and businesses who can benefit from local SEO.

A business without a website can still use local SEO by having listings and this can contribute to driving leads to the business.

Who can’t benefit from local SEO?

While everyone would love to use local SEO, not everyone can. Some businesses may intentionally refuse to engage in any location-based optimization. These businesses include e-commerce shops, private online sellers, and local authors.

Understanding how vital local SEO is a big step. Now, you need to take action with this information and dig into the benefits of local SEO for your business. To improve your local SEO, you must start by updating your business address and other details on Google My Business (GMB). Claim your listing across different directories and update info such as name, address, and phone number – also known as NAP.

Avoid any confusion or discrepancies in these details across listings. Be consistent and accurate with all of them.

Reviews will become a big part of your online business and can impact your local SEO. Respond promptly to reviews in a professional yet engaging manner. Salvage negative reviews as soon as you can and strive to protect your business reputation. There will also be questions or inquiries about your business. It’s important to answer them as clearly as you can and promptly too.

How to build website traffic

Building website traffic takes time. It could take weeks, months, and sometimes years. Either way, to grow your website’s traffic you must be prepared to move at a gradual pace while implementing the right strategies. Luckily, the strategies for building website traffic are numerous. While some of these strategies can help grow your traffic gradually, others can boost it at a faster rate, based on how well you implement them. For more information on these strategies and how to optimize them, keep reading below.

1. Boost your social media presence

The percentage of social media users all over the world spikes up by the day, making it a great platform for gathering an audience. You can start by opening business accounts on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram to draw attention to your website.

To be active on social platforms, you must go beyond creating the account. Being active also involves creating interesting, engaging contents daily. So make your page engaging, by responding to your followers and answering their questions. Also, work on increasing your follower count as the more followers you have, the more people will see your content and check your website.

Keep in mind that a follower on your social media account might not visit your website. So you must encourage them to do this by posting links to your blog on your social media pages, and requesting that your followers check out the link. You also can make use of unique links to find out where traffic is being generated from. These links will let you know if most of your traffic is coming from your social media platforms.

2. Email Marketing

The frequent introduction of new website building strategies can tempt companies to ignore older strategies. But ignoring these strategies might not be the best option because they are the basics. So make use of email marketing to build website traffic. Though this strategy has been in existence for a while, it is still very profitable and valid. How? Email marketing is versatile. It provides you with different methods to leverage your email subscribers.

Email marketing is also cheap as each spent dollar provides a high ROI. You can coax your subscribers to introduce friends and family to your content. This will help you generate new leads from both new and existing subscribers.

Lastly, you can easily analyze and track the success of your marketing campaign with email marketing software. Once there is a boost in your website’s traffic, you will be able to find the exact source it came from. This can help you optimize this source. So use these analytics and ensure you track new traffic.

3. Work on your SEO

Search engine optimization provides a good opportunity to generate traffic. When online users seek information, product or services, 90% of them make searches on Google. Also, about 80% of people research brands on Google before purchasing their products. So with SEO, you can increase your website’s ranking on Google and grow your traffic. This also helps you generate a new lead.

You can improve your SEO by using keywords that will make your website easily found by online users. This can also help you gain traffic organically.

4. Start blogging

Creating a blog on your website is necessary to build traffic. Even if you never pictured yourself as a blogger, it’s never too late to begin. You don’t have to worry about your kind of business or industry. There is always a topic that can be made into a blog post in each industry. All you have to do is analyze your business or company by asking; what am I offering? How can I turn it into posts that can attract readers? How often can I create these blog posts?

Once you answer these questions, you become ready to start your blog. A blog on your website gives online users a reason to visit. It also helps build your SEO. You can also increase your organic lead by posting blog content and the more content you post, the higher your organic lead.

5. Go live

One new marketing strategy for building website traffic is live streaming. Luckily, social media platforms have recently included live streaming features so you might as well optimize it. Platforms where you can go live include Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Live streaming helps you connect with your target audience directly.

During your live streams, talk about your website, your products, and services. Give them reasons why they should visit your page and why they will enjoy your services. You can also direct your viewers to your landing page for generating new leads. For optimal effect, go live frequently. This way you can grow a strong audience and increase traffic on your website.

6. Make video content

Posting videos on your website will appeal to customers. This is why about eighty percent of online marketers make use of videos. People prefer to watch videos than reading write-ups so you need to provide them with both options. If they need more information, your website write-up can provide it to them.

Videos are likely to produce about a 150% increase in your search traffic. Also, 4 out of 10 consumers are likely to take action after viewing a video ad. So give your target audience what they seek. A great platform for video content is YouTube. Get a YouTube channel for your website, post videos regularly and link it to your website.

Lastly on this point, before making your video contents, keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to spend thousands of dollars. You can simply make your videos and edit them yourself. Add these videos to your social media platforms, your blogs, and your emails. In no time you will see the advantage in new lead generation and increased website traffic.

7. Involve online influencers

Despite how popular the internet has become and how often people seek services from it, the majority of people remain skeptical about hiring services from unknown brands. They need referrals that can let them know others have benefitted from your services. One fast way to get this credibility is to create a relationship with influencers. These influencers’ followers trust them and believe they only make use of the best items.

You can reach out to a celebrity and request that they promote your brand to their followers. A promotion from a celebrity can build your website traffic very fast. You can also reach out to social media influencers with large followers count. Once you get them to post information about your product and website, your traffic will increase.

8. Create ultimate guides

Writing ultimate guides is a great strategy for generating traffic. Most people enjoy reading and sharing these guides on their social media platforms. This will attract more viewers to your website.

To write an ultimate guide, you can check out examples online and get a mental picture of what it should look like. Then choose a topic you would like to write on and also make research on similarly written topics. Write with lots of examples and case studies. This makes it easier to read and understand. Lastly, make sure you add pictures to your guide. Pictures make your guide look more attractive and interesting.

Once your ultimate guide is complete, post it on your blog and promote it with your social media platforms. You can be sure that once your followers see “The Ultimate Guide To…” their attention will be snagged. Make sure you encourage them – at the end of the guide – to share links to their friends and followers.

9. Write a guest post

One effective way to draw traffic to your webpage is by writing a guest post for a famous blog. To do this, acquaint yourself with a famous blog owner and build a relationship. Thankfully, social media makes this quite easy. You can find them on Twitter and communicate with them by commenting on their posts. Then go over to their blog pages and leave comments that are sure to grab their attention. You can also reach out to another guest writer and request an introduction. This can help you get credibility in the eyes of the blog owner. Lastly, you can get in touch with them by attending their conferences and workshops.

Once you’ve built a relationship with the desired blog owner, talk to them about writing a guest post. Provide them with a topic that will definitely spike their interest and make them consider posting your content.

10. Do a giveaway

Everyone loves a giveaway, especially if it’s something of value. Do you have any product or service to spare? Putting these items up for a giveaway will not just draw people to your brand. It will also let them know what exactly you are offering. Giveaways will draw attention to your social media pages and websites, providing you with overnight publicity.

When making a giveaway, make sure you strategize it in such a way that you will benefit majorly in the form of traffic boosting.

11. Utilize Ego bait

Ego bait is basically a strategy where you set up a challenge to your online users and offer an attractive reward to anyone who succeeds at the challenge. Whoever wins gets to brag about it to friends and family. This strategy can be said to capitalize on the human ego. So to do this, you can make a competition for the best-written blog post. You can set a topic on your services and ask them to make mentions of your brand in the blog post. Whoever emerges as the best writer will be gifted a badge or anything you can provide. Then ensure this competition and reward draws attention to your website.

12. Comment on blogs

Commenting on blogs might seem old-fashioned or ineffective but there is still a chance that this will draw attention to your website. Besides, taking out a few minutes each day to comment on popular blogs will barely cost you anything. Instead, it can help put your site out there for anyone to see. Apart from building your website’s traffic, it can also help you form relationships with blog owners.

To optimize this strategy, don’t stick to posting simple comments such as “amazing post” or “good writing”. Post comments that can attract attention. Let the author and others in the comment section find attractive information in your comment. You can proceed to add information they might have missed out on their own blogs. You can also get involved in peaceful, educative arguments with others in the comment section. Informative comments can show readers that you have expertise on a topic, and make them curious about you. This will draw them to your website and build traffic.

13. Seek interview opportunities

Sitting for an interview can give you a platform to publicize your website. Luckily, there are so many opportunities you can use to publicize your website to a mass audience. You can use seek interviews on podcasts, radio shows or both. A radio show you can reach out to for an interview is This show actively seeks interviewees who can share useful information on their radio show.

On these shows, you can share your knowledge and expertise with listeners. Prepare in advance and hit them with unknown facts that will let them see the depth to which you know about that topic. Impress them enough to want to seek you out for information. Also, keep it related to your services and chip in your website name at the end so that they can seek you out.

All thirteen strategies listed above a helpful for building website traffic. This means you can choose to initiate one or more of these strategies at a time. Keep in mind that implementing a number of them at once can give your website’s traffic a faster boost. So choose your strategies and use them efficiently to grow your traffic quickly!
